We had a side excursion up the Shennong Stream which used to be just under a metre deep now about 20 metres and rising due to the Three Gorges Dam. Include on the tour was seeing the Hanging coffins (only just) and being hauled up the river by bamboo rope like in the old times. Some more overnight cruising downriver and we cam upon the Three gorges Dam and entered the locks to go through around midnight. The dam is pretty awe inspiring.
